SHILOH STRUCTURAL LLC is a professional structural engineering, and humanitarian natural disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation organization. We maintain the values of client service, integrity, technical excellence, transparency, and safety in all aspects of our work. Our projects span the globe with clients/projects on 4 continents, in 9 countries and in 12 states. We hold current professional civil engineering licenses in California, Colorado, and Oregon. Project types have included research facilities, high tech, multi-use, power plants, rehabilitation/remediation, medical, forensics, pre- and post-disaster structure assessments, building code evaluations and variation evaluations to name just a few.
Since 2010, our efforts have focused on providing relief to the victims of natural disasters through preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. Of all the post-disaster engineering needs, structural engineering is of the greatest value because it provides the most basic recovery building block for the beneficiaries and their communities - having safe, resilient places to live and work. We experienced this first hand in New Zealand where thousands of businesses and homes were destroyed in the 2010-2011 earthquakes, resulting in substantial delays on the Christchurch rebuild. In addition, thousands of structures throughout the country were found to be prone to future earthquake damages, putting unnecessary financial hardships on thousands of Kiwis and their communities.
We are advocates for practices that promote community sustainability. Climate change will demand that humanity adopt the best building practices so as to reduce at least one risk factor - the threat to public and private infrastructure. Upfront mitigation costs are a necessary evil, but the costs associated with not having resilient structures (homelessness, repairs, rebuilding, and re-establishing business sectors) can be overwhelming and totally unexpected. We remain proactive in educating our clients with structural engineering solutions that will protect their homes and businesses, and thereby ensuring resilience and sustainability for their communities.
We are excited to offer drone technology for our clients with special needs that only a drone can provide. This tool has proven invaluable for the assessment of structures with limited access, properties requiring broad surveys, and timely reconnaissance of large devastated areas. We adhere to the Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations under Part 107, and are licensed as a commercial drone pilot.
