PRIDE AND DIGNITY

One of the luxuries I have been afforded is working with some very talented and dedicated people, on some great projects.  Winifred Galvan, an architect, colleague and friend, was influential in the development of a great project for her homeland of Haiti.  All of the people speaking in this short video clip understand the value of rebuilding a country from within, in such a manner that future generations will have a country to be proud of.

The first Haitian Kreyole phrase I learned was... Kenbe La!  It captures the spirit of the Haitian people, and forms the basis of their resilience.  It means... Never Give Up!  This is the spirit that the people of Haiti, Nepal, Pakistan, Ecuador, and other nations must adopt if they are to overcome the natural disasters in their homelands.
